At a briefing in the Council of Ministers today, Minister Ivelina Vasileva presented the two proposals under priority axis "Environment and Infrastructure" at the Bulgarian-Swiss program of cooperation. The briefing was attended by Deputy Prime Minister - President in charge of European funds and economic policy Tomislav Donchev and Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova. Attended by the Ambassador of Switzerland in Bulgaria Dennis Knob and the head of "Contribution to the enlargement of the European Union" at the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland Hugo Brugman.
The projects are "environmentally sound disposal of obsolete pesticides and other plant protection products with expired" and "Research and development of pilot models for environmentally sound collection and temporary storage of hazardous waste from households." The total amount of funding for this priority axis is 32.2 million. Swiss francs (grants and national cofinancing).
The projects are included in the National Policy for Environmental Protection and are part of the policy for sustainable waste management. Enterprise management activities Environmental Protection (Environmental Protection Fund) is responsible for assigning and controlling the execution of feasibility studies and implementation of project activities.
